Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 21

Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 21

Well today was a very nice day outside.  I could have done lots of stuff outside getting exercise and sucking in valuable vitamin D, but I didn't.  My day started by getting up early and taking my son to Hockey Referee School, followed by coffee (black) with my family at Tim Horton's.  A long time Sunday morning tradition.  I then went home and put my head into my homework assignment.  I am taking BCIT Supervisory Skills, part of the Associate Certificate of Leadership.  I didn't realize that is was due today at midnight until Friday's class.  I could have had 2 weeks to complete it but instead I gave myself 2 days and even then most of the work was done today.  The next 2 assignments will be started much earlier.  I would have much preferred spending the day outside.  I would have even been more excited to go riding my motorcycle and that thing scares me half to death!

On to some good news, I got my hula hoop today, in fact I got 2.  I got the "Bumble Bee" for me and the "Superman" for my husband.  I am going to be hula hooping 20 minutes a day starting tomorrow and hope my husband will be joining me!  I read a great article about a 30 year old woman who lost over 150 lbs and she says she did it hula hooping.  I'll keep you posted. (Pictures to Follow)

The little metal box was good again to me today.  I am now down another 1/2 lb for a total of 12.1 lbs in 3 weeks.  It's starting to add up now, but funny I felt fat today.  Weird how you feel good and strong and healthy one day and you just feel fat the next.  Must have been my lack of exercise.  I did eat right and drink water so day 21 and still being successful!

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 20

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 20

I really can't believe it has been 20 days on this cleanse.  It really has gone by quickly.  I feel stronger, I no longer mind (too much) doing the 2 flights of stairs from my living room to my bedroom.  this is a very good thing.  I went grocery shopping today and filled my fridge with veggies and fruits and all kinds of great things.  I love Sunday's because I can make what ever I want and I have everything I need!

I love October, it has to be one of my favorite months of  the year.  It's cooler, the colors a beautiful and there is the wonderful pumpkin.  I love everything pumpkin.  The problem this year is my favorite pumpkin treats are not on the cleanse.  I am not a big Starbucks fan or a Dairy Queen fan but every October I love the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte and the Dairy Queen Pumpkin  Blizzard.  I never go crazy, one visit, one treat from each store.  Just to satisfy my cravings.  Oh yes and this coming weekend is Thanksgiving and my husband's birthday.  Homemade pumpkin pie.  Did I mention I love pumpkin??  What am I going to do this year?  Hmm...  "Nothing tastes as good as feeling thin feels", "Nothing tastes as good as feeling thin feels"  OK, I am good now.

So I have graduated to low and high days, gone are my "None" days.  This change will certainly make this plan easier.  The none days are the hardest.  I wonder if there is a good recipe for pumpkin soup that is on the plan...  Leanne??

I went to a friends house this evening.  I have not seen him for over a month.  One of the first things he said to me was "you look like you have lost weight, have you?"  I said why yes.. almost 12 lbs.

Today was a good day!

Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 19

Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 19

Good day today.  I was in a classroom all day learning Supervisory Skills.  I had my green smoothie before I left the house.  I was so good today.  I cooked my 4 oz of chicken marinated in Braggs, made my leafy green salad with a side of Flax  Seed Oil and Balsamic vinegar.  Then added two apples and 20 almonds for my 2 snacks.  Felt so good to be prepared.  I need to do that everyday!  Been a few days I went hungry at lunch because I got sucked into meetings that prevented me from going home for lunch.

Not today.  Good thing to because when I got to the classroom it was worse than employee appreciation day at work yesterday.  So many muffins, scones and banana breads only today there was also jam and butter.  I had my black coffee and pretended in my head how sick everyone was going to feel from filling their bodies with garbage.  Helps me to think of it as not good for you.  I don't feel as deprived that way.

Until lunch,  I got out my chicken and leafy greens and mixed everything together.  Just then a colleague of mine comes up to me and says hey I was going to buy you lunch remember?  I said I would love that!  Rain check OK?  He said sure.  I told him about the Fitness Challenge.  Everyone becomes my cheerleader when I tell them the story.

Friday NONE days are brutal.  I feel hungry all day long.  Funny the Monday NONE days don't bother me but Friday always sucks! I am hungry now as I write this but I have eaten all my food so I will drink water until I go to bed.  Good News the little metal box is finally starting to be kind to me.  As of this morning I am down 10.1 lbs.  Woot!  Double digits.  I hope this means that the body is finally starting to release the fat!  Can't wait to see what it says tomorrow!  I have been drinking more water, but I can't shake the habit of checking my weight every morning.

Tomorrow is workout day and the Trio is back together.  Looking forward to working out with my new weight loss partners Katherine, Tristan and the awesome trainers at Team Fitness.

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 18

Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 18.
I am thinking that most of my bloggs read like a daily journal from a gal that has a pretty boring life.  Today was no different.  I am still considering myself successful, no licks, bites or tastes of anything forbidden on the cleanse.

Today was "employee appreciation day" at work.  What that means is everyone meets in the cafeteria and has coffee and goodies before they go out to work.  After the coffee time is over the counter right outside of my office is filled to capacity with banana bread, carrot cake, pound cake, cheese biscuits, blue berry biscuits and on and on.  I did not even touch a crumb!

I should get some kind of award for sticking to this cleanse!  My weight loss has been really slow over the last 10 days but everyone tells me my body is in "Rescue Mode" and one day I will wake up and I will see a big drop.  I keep waiting for that day to come. In the mean time I am trying to figure out what else I can do to convince my body to release the fat.  LISTEN TO ME, YOU ARE NO LONGER WELCOME HERE!

Actually I am going to go to public skating on Sunday, different muscles might shake things out.   I am also looking to buy a hula hoop.  I understand that is great exercise and is awesome for gals who want to get their sexy back.   Great workout with Chris and my workout buddies at Team Fitness tonight.  I love Chris' energy and sense of humor, I was tired when we were done!  Bed Time soon, praying that the scale god is good to me in the morning....

Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 17

Welcome to my personal fitness challenge Day 17
Today was a diet "High" day meaning more carbs are allowed.  Well I knew today would be a challenge, lots of meetings today.  I started with a green smoothie.  I love oatmeal but I don't like it with the protein powder and blue berries.  I have to figure out a better breakfast on the high days.  I kind of like the green smoothie in the morning though.  at 10:30 am we had a birthday party for my boss.  There was strawberry short cake, cheese and crackers and various fruits.  Thank you Rose for bringing the fruit.  I had my almonds and some of the fruit including apple.  Then I headed off to my 1st of 3 more meetings.  I thought I had time for lunch but I didn't.  My mistake again I should have packed my lunch and didn't.  I had an apple and a few more almonds around 2 and finally dinner at 5:30 pm.  Funny I was hungry but not ravenous.  Dinner sure did taste good and hit the spot thought!

I stayed the same on the scale today.  I thought it was going to be the day I would see a difference.  It is day 17 and I am down 9.3 lbs.  Sounds good right?  Well I was down 9.3 lbs on day 8 so now on day 17 I am getting a little frustrated.  I can't remember the last time I stuck to a diet plan without so much as a lick, bite or taste of anything off limits, particularly on such a restrictive plan as this one.  What is going on?  It would be ok if everyone else was having similar results but the other girls are already well into double digits.  I want this really bad.  What else can I do?  Well for sure I am committed to stick with it.  Body has to let go at some point...right?

Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 16

Welcome to my personal fitness challenge day 16.

Today was an interesting day on my fitness challenge.  It was a "Low" day on the food plan which I now find to be more than enough food.  Started with my green smoothie.  I like to put the protein powder in it.  It seems to taste better and keeps me satisfied a little longer.  After a longer morning meeting with my boss it was snack time.  He is trying to get in shape too but forgot his food at home today.  He was on a hunt for a snack so I pulled out an apple and some almonds for him.  I am now in the habit of carrying extra.  He was thrilled and it felt good to be able to do that.  When I got home for lunch there was still lots of my Dad's delicious home made bread around.

Funny how I am not even tempted, even I find that surprising.  As I prepared my lunch (Turkey Chili) and salad I got to thinking.   I have never been a smoker, mostly because I know how absolutely terrible it is for your health.  I can picture the damage occurring in the body as the smoke laced with nicotine makes its way through your system.  You couldn't pay me to smoke a cigarette, its just not worth it.  I was looking at that little mini loaf of home made white bread that I just love to eat hot smeared with butter.  Mmmmmm home made white bread toast with butter.

But I looked at it today like it was that cigarette.  Sure I could eat it, I'm a big girl.  I could make that decision.  But would it be worth it?  Imagine the havoc it would cause to my system.  I am 16 days into a cleanse and my system has been flushing out all kinds of stuff, getting used to this no wheat, no dairy, no sugar, no red meat, no red wine diet Sure it would taste good while I was chewing but when I was done I would feel awful. I would feel like I failed, I would feel like I let myself down, I might actually feel sick. I would definitely put my weight loss goal behind.  Nope, not worth it.  The turkey chili was fabulous.  Funny how much you can think in the  3 minutes it takes for the microwave to heat your lunch.

The scale was nice to me today (sorry Leanne, I had to look :-)  I went to the gym right after work.  I am hoping the scale decides to be nice to me again tomorrow.  I deserve it!

Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 15

Welcome to my personal fitness Challenge Day 15
Today was a "None" day, there is noticeably less food on the none days.  I am getting used to the diet though.  The thing I miss the most on None days are vegetables. Leafy greens just don't seem as satisfying.  Not too much exciting happened today.  It was not full of meetings so I had time to get the food down pat. The apples in my office did not look good so both my snacks were almonds.  It was all good though, really didn't feel that hungry.  The workout was good tonight.  My muscles were still a little sore from Saturday.  Came home and my dad had made his famous homemade white bread.  Funny how I was not even tempted.  I would like to have some but I want this more!  Shared Leanne's flax seed crackers with hubby, he LOVED them.  Leanne, I now need the recipe please!
