Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 51

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 51

Well today was a wonderful day in my Fitness Challenge.  I woke up this morning feeling pretty good.  I have to say the pain of doing the treadmill at an incline of 6 after an intense 1 hour workout was so worth it.  I would have felt guilty x 10 if I hadn't done it.  I woke up thinking I feel thinner today!  I love that feeling.  Sorry Leanne!  I weighed myself this morning and yeah!! down another pound.

I was walking in the hall at work today and one of the managers stopped me and said "your weight loss is really showing"  followed by "No offense but your the biggest loser"  I walked away with a big smile on my face :-)  If that wasn't enough I was at the Fire Hall and when I walked in the admin manager say's wow your shrinking.  The I spoke at a crew meeting this afternoon and after the meeting one of the gal's came up to me and said your really shrinking.  I was grinning from ear to ear I am sure.  When I told my husband the story he said to me "I really noticed it a lot in your face today"  Almost week 8 and everyone is noticing!  I love it! It is so inspiring me to keep going, to work that much harder.

Thank you Team Fitness... Oh and "Bring it!"

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 50

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 50

Another successful day on my Team Fitness + fitness challenge.  Started out by rushing out the door at 6:30 am to get to the training center to get confined space training set up and going, then headed up to the Hall to conduct new employee training.  I didn't grab breakfast so I had only had a few almonds and an apple before lunch.so when I got home and had my turkey chili I really enjoyed it!

My afternoon snack was interesting to..  Hmmm  Is this good karma or bad karma?  I am suppose to have 10 almonds and an apple.  I have my 10 almonds and decide I want just a couple more.  After chewing the last one I inhaled a little too soon and the bits left in my mouth went down my wind pipe and it sounded like I was choking to death before I got control of it.  OMG   I get the message 10 only!  LOL

The workout was great tonight, it is getting progressively harder.  I lost steam about half way through the 2nd round of the circuit but I kept going.  Leanne asked me to do 20 minutes on the treadmill at an incline of 6 after the workout.  I normally feel like I could keep going for another round but tonight I just felt spent.  I got on the treadmill anyway.  Twenty minutes, incline 6, speed 2.8 calories burned 200.  I talked to Glenda and the time went by.  It felt good when I was done.  Glad I went the extra mile. Glenda and I talked about trying Zumba.  Well she has done it, I have not.  Sounds like a fun way to burn calories.  I'll keep you posted.

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 49

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 49

Today was a good day food wise.  Started by going to Tim Horton's for our weekly family get together.  Very used to black coffee now.  I am pretty sure I will keep drinking black coffee from now on.  I was saying to my husband that black is guilt free.  No fat, no sugar, no calories.  Two cream, one sugar was just loaded with fat and calories that had to take away from the amount of good healthy food I could eat.

I am very disappointed that I did not get to go to the gym today.  I had to dedicate most of my day to doing my Supervisor Skills assignment.  My fault for leaving it until the last weekend to get it done.  But it is done now.  I cooked up a few different squashes today and went grocery shopping to set up and prepare for the week ahead.

Funny when I read Katherine's post and looked at her virtual before and after pictures I thought to myself yes I want that too.  I want to move from the fat girl club to the healthy girl club.  I was at Superstore tonight and there were a lot of large women there.  Every time I went past one I thought about Katherine's before and after and it gave me even more motivation to keep working away at getting in shape.  Yes that is what I really want.

On that note I found a few pairs of pants in my closet I decided to try on.  They both actually hung really weird on me but did fit!  They are going in the recycle bin though.  I found a pair of jeans that seemed ok on so I am wearing those today.  They are actually a bit too big and keep slipping down.  Not sure these are going to last long either.  My son Zach noticed I had different jeans on and actually said "I can notice a really difference in you Mom"  It's really cool when your 18 year old son not only notices but says something positive to you.  Thanks Zach!

I am looking forward my check in / workout tomorrow night at Team Fitness.  It feels good to workout now.
Thank you Team Fitness.

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 48

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 48

Well some days I have more to write about than others.  Today is a blogger light day.  Not a whole lot to report.  Some happy news! After a week of staying the same as last Saturday's check in this morning I got on my little metal box with my fingers crossed and I was rewarded.  Down 2 lbs. from last Saturday.  Down a total of 18.5 lbs. and 7.5% See now passing on the salty popcorn at the Football game last night was worth it!

I tried on a few more pieces out of my closet today.  Found a few more tops and I am so very close to fitting into a couple more jackets that I have.  I am looking forward to that.

That was followed by a great TF+ Trio workout at Team Fitness with Sarah.  There was some challenging bits in each of the rounds today.  I think we were all feeling it by the end of the workout.  My arms and shoulders are still talking to me know.  Its that warm and fuzzy discomfort that I have come to look forward to.  It feels like I am moving in the right direction when I feel it.

Dad cooked up the two pumpkins I had so now I just have to decide how I am going to use them.  I did find a pumpkin soup and a puree that looks like it will be on the program.  We shall see what happens.

Well stay tuned for my day 49 update.  Thanks for the support to my friends and family!!

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 47

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 47

Today was full of challenges and I am very happy to say I am heading to bed on a successful note.  I headed to my Supervisor Skills course.  This was day 4 of 5.  Hard to believe it's going to be done 2 weeks from now.  This course always starts with everyone chowing down on muffins, scones, banana bread with butter and jam.  Not that hard for me to walk past it and grab a coffee, black.  I head back to my seat and get out an apple.  As I look around I notice the thin people are the ones with the most jam and butter on their snack.  Later I notice it's the thin people who go back for more.  Two or three people brought in their Halloween treat left overs too so there was plenty of chocolate to go around all day.

At lunch time I opened up my salad with 4 oz of chicken.  I really do enjoy that dish.  Students/Coworkers start to come back with their burgers and Tim Horton's food.  One of my coworkers asks me how it's going.  He went to Victoria with me and witnessed my willpower.  I told him I lost a pound last week even with the trip.  He gave me a high five.  I like the support!  I started this course around the same time I started the challenge, the instructor asked me how it was going and how many Halloween treats I had last night.  I told her none.  Truth is chocolate is not my weakness.  If we were giving out cheese balls I may have been in trouble.  She laughed and said she could really see a difference in me. :-)

I got my mandoline slicer today!  Yeah!  I did go to Bed, Bath and Beyond and decided I wanted a good stainless steel one but I did not want to pay the price.  I have been watching Craig's List and finally found a great one for a great price.  I am making something with the slicer and dehydrator this weekend!!

Tonight I went to the BC Lions game.  First I started with dinner out at my friend Ariel's.  She made the best salad with ground turkey and salsa.  Right on my program and very satisfying.  As we walked towards the entrance to BC Place there was the fantastic smell of BBQ'd smokies.  We entered and of course there is all the food venders.  People walking around with sweet potato fries, buttery popcorn, peanuts in the shell.  It was all good until the guys in our row started passing the popcorn by me.  That was hard.  I kept my mind on the goal.  I want to lose this weight and nothing is going to slow me down.  I was thinking though,  I am never going to be able to go back to eating the way I used to.  To be successful I am always going to have to make choices.  I am ok with that!   Thanks Team Fitness.

Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 46

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 46

Happy Halloween fellow TF+ teammates!  With Halloween comes the added temptation of all the treats that come with it.  Not only giving the chocolate, chips and cheezies to all the spooky ghouls that come to the door but also all the treats that are displayed everywhere you go.

I am proud to say that I did not touch one.  I was however tempted on a couple of occasions.  Once or twice while greeting trick or treaters at the door and first thing in the morning.  Good news, I tried on my cute little red bomber jacket and it fit.  I was very excited that I could fit into it again.  I really like it.  I reached into the pockets and in my left hand I pulled out two chocolate easter eggs, those little foil wrapped ones.  It crossed my mind to eat them but only for a second.  I stuck them on a shelf.  They are a good visual reminder to be strong and work hard so I can reach the goal I really want.

On that note we had a good workout with Officer Sarah tonight.  It was kind of fun to be taking the workout commands from our trainer dressed as a member of the RCMP.  The workout music was all ghost related or Thriller.  The workout started a little slow but picked up.  I loved the exercises that involved working in pairs.  That was really effective and a lot of fun.  The only suggestion for next year is perhaps instead of passing the medicine ball we can pass pumpkins!

My office had a pumpkin carving contest today.  As you know I have an affinity for pumpkin anything.  At the end of the day there were still a few uncarved pumpkins.  I got to take a couple home.  I have to now
find a few good pumpkin recipes that are on program so I can enjoy them!

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 45

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 45

Wow, every time I add up the numbers I can not believe time has flown by so quickly.  I am really excited about that because before I know it a year will be up and I will be a new me.  I woke up still feeling discomfort in my muscles.  I love that feeling.

I did keep a promise to myself today, I made it to the lunch time yoga class. I explored my downward dog, my happy baby, my dolphin plank, my inner warrior.  Some poses were tough as it involved stretching my already tight muscles.  I think it's an excellent mid week addition to my current workout schedule.  Stretching out my tight muscles is a good thing.

However, right now I am now awaiting my hot tub to be hot enough to go into.  I don't even care that it is raining.  My back is so killing me and I actually did not know I had so many abdomen muscles.  They are all individually introducing themselves to me.  It's all good though, something new, something to push myself further everyday will lead to the new me.

Now looking forward to my Halloween Team Fitness workout tomorrow night.  May my muscles be ready!!
