Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 16

Welcome to my personal fitness challenge day 16.

Today was an interesting day on my fitness challenge.  It was a "Low" day on the food plan which I now find to be more than enough food.  Started with my green smoothie.  I like to put the protein powder in it.  It seems to taste better and keeps me satisfied a little longer.  After a longer morning meeting with my boss it was snack time.  He is trying to get in shape too but forgot his food at home today.  He was on a hunt for a snack so I pulled out an apple and some almonds for him.  I am now in the habit of carrying extra.  He was thrilled and it felt good to be able to do that.  When I got home for lunch there was still lots of my Dad's delicious home made bread around.

Funny how I am not even tempted, even I find that surprising.  As I prepared my lunch (Turkey Chili) and salad I got to thinking.   I have never been a smoker, mostly because I know how absolutely terrible it is for your health.  I can picture the damage occurring in the body as the smoke laced with nicotine makes its way through your system.  You couldn't pay me to smoke a cigarette, its just not worth it.  I was looking at that little mini loaf of home made white bread that I just love to eat hot smeared with butter.  Mmmmmm home made white bread toast with butter.

But I looked at it today like it was that cigarette.  Sure I could eat it, I'm a big girl.  I could make that decision.  But would it be worth it?  Imagine the havoc it would cause to my system.  I am 16 days into a cleanse and my system has been flushing out all kinds of stuff, getting used to this no wheat, no dairy, no sugar, no red meat, no red wine diet Sure it would taste good while I was chewing but when I was done I would feel awful. I would feel like I failed, I would feel like I let myself down, I might actually feel sick. I would definitely put my weight loss goal behind.  Nope, not worth it.  The turkey chili was fabulous.  Funny how much you can think in the  3 minutes it takes for the microwave to heat your lunch.

The scale was nice to me today (sorry Leanne, I had to look :-)  I went to the gym right after work.  I am hoping the scale decides to be nice to me again tomorrow.  I deserve it!

Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 15

Welcome to my personal fitness Challenge Day 15
Today was a "None" day, there is noticeably less food on the none days.  I am getting used to the diet though.  The thing I miss the most on None days are vegetables. Leafy greens just don't seem as satisfying.  Not too much exciting happened today.  It was not full of meetings so I had time to get the food down pat. The apples in my office did not look good so both my snacks were almonds.  It was all good though, really didn't feel that hungry.  The workout was good tonight.  My muscles were still a little sore from Saturday.  Came home and my dad had made his famous homemade white bread.  Funny how I was not even tempted.  I would like to have some but I want this more!  Shared Leanne's flax seed crackers with hubby, he LOVED them.  Leanne, I now need the recipe please!

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 14

Welcome to my personal fitness challenge Day 14
Today was a "High" day food wise.  I am getting so used to not eating too much that the high days almost seem like too much food.  Had my oatmeal with protein powder and blueberries this morning. I love oatmeal normally but I am not loving this particular meal on the plan.  I must research alternatives.  Went for coffee at Timmies with my family.  Sadly I think black coffee still sucks.  Not sure if I will ever get used to that.  I ate all my food today but I did really start craving bread and cheese and a bunch of things that I have not had now for 2 weeks.  I am still fully on the diet, no slip ups!  I want thin more than I want cheese.. Its true!

I had every intention of going to the gym today but Kudos to Wesley I had many sore muscles today, really sore.  It was a good workout on Saturday!  I was trying to think of other forms of exercise but I hate being out in the rain and traditional exercises were not going to happen.  Later tonight when I took my son to his hockey game there was a public skate going on and I thought hmmm..  I could have done that!  I think I am going to start doing the public skate on the weekends.  An hour on ice skates is using different muscles and is a pretty good workout yet its fun!

Tomorrow starts another busy week, and the start of Week 3 on the Team Fitness Challenge.  I really have been thinking about how I can step it up to see more results more quickly.  I think I am going to journal everything including my water as well as attempt to get all the food in at exactly the right times. Who would have thought I would ever in my life have to worry about eating enough food!  LOL  The other challenge is getting enough exercise in this very crappy weather!  Well it needs to be done!

Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 13

Welcome to my personal fitness challenge day 13.

Today over all was a better day.  It was my "Low" day, food wise.  Which is just a little more food than the "none" day.  The biggest bonus was the turkey chili my dad made last night which I had for lunch.  Wow was that filling and very yummy.  I am going to be looking for some more recipes to help me on my journey.

My day started by getting up at almost 8 am which if you know me you know that is so weird.  I am always up by 530 am and usually earlier.  I made my green smoothie and headed to my workout at Team Fitness.

Wesley, Katherine and I worked out for just over an hour together.  I have to say it was the best workout there yet.  I wasn't exhausted but I could feel my muscles all day.  Great job Wesley!  You still didn't make me want to vomit yet though!  I know, I know, that's not the good way to lose weight.  I hear ya!  Speaking of vomiting I had tofu tonight for the first time for my white protein. Yuck, I would rather have Turkey twice a day for ever and ever.  How do you vegetarians do it!

I got my shopping done today for my next week.  Lots more veggies, turkey and chicken in the fridge now (no more tofu!)  I am now trying to figure out what exercise I will do tomorrow.  Hope its not raining, I might do the Lynn Loop.  That always burns a bunch of calories!

My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 12

Welcome to my personal fitness challenge day 12.

I consider myself successful because I ate no flour, sugar, dairy, red meat or alcohol.  It was a "none" day and it felt like a "none" day.  I feel like I was starving all day today.  I kept busy, I stayed on the program but tonight I am going to bed feeling hungry.

My dad made this absolutely to die for dinner for the rest of my family, it was my weakest moment when I walked in the door and smelled the deliciousness in the air.  It looked just as good and everybody raved about it.  I could not tell you what it tasted like, but I imagined.  My Dad was so awesome though!  He thought of me too.  He made me the turkey chili that was on the food plan and had it all hot and ready for me so I would have something delicious too.  Thanks Dad!  But it is a "none" day so I have chili to look forward to tomorrow.  Going to bed hungry!

I hope the little metal box in my bathroom is kind to me for my loyalty.  It has been selfish all week.  I have stuck to this plan and exercised and there has been no change since Sunday.  That is just cruel.  Oh well tomorrow is another day...   Looking forward to my Saturday workout at Team Fitness with my besties.  Hope they are having a better week than me!

My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 11

Welcome to my 11th successful day!  I am amazing myself at my will power.  I am not tempted to put anything no on my diet in my mouth.  I hope the little metal box decides to reward me tomorrow.  It has been a slow week.  I drank lots of water today and all my food except dinner.  I was at a buffet style dinner meeting and decided it was better to eat nothing than to try to pick and choose what was ok.  Now I am home and its after 9.  Instead of eating late I decided to have a few almonds and skip the rest. I don't want to go to bed with lots of food in my stomach.

I told my team at the CSSE meeting about the challenge and they were all high fives.  I love this group of people, they are all the kind of people that make you feel good and I appreciate that!  I now also have more fan's cheering me on.  I am so excited to be opening this chapter of my life.  Thank you Team Fitness!

My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 10

Welcome to day 10 of my personal fitness challenge.  Lots of challenges today but I still look back at it and consider myself as successful.  Today was a "High" day meaning I could have more food.  I started with my oatmeal and blueberries and the off to work.  Today was what we refer to as treat day which occurs every 2nd Wednesday. We all take turns bringing in sweet and savory treats.  I was going to skip it, but then I thought I would deprive myself of the social with my co-workers and I did not want to miss that.  I went and watched while they ate Pumpkin Apple bunt cake with Greek Yogurt and Spanipitica and a fantastic salad with yummy dressing.  I had black coffee and chatted with the girls and Erik.  None of them were really aware of my new Weight loss Challenge so I explained it to them and said don't feel bad that I am not eating, feel excited that I am working towards my goal.  Afterwards one of the girls Courtenay invited me to join their yoga group on Wednesday's at lunch.  Thanks Court!!  They were all invited to like the Team Fitness Facebook page and follow my progress.  Now the pressure is really on!

On to the next challenge, business lunch at the Thai House restaurant.  I love Thai food!  I ordered grilled Saba Fish (sauce on the side) with a side order of brown Jasmine rice plain, and lots of water.  I enjoyed the meeting, I left without feeling hungry but it wasn't the same Thai experience as the last time I was there but hey I felt good that I could walk out feeling successful.  Onto my meeting at District Hall complete with Cookies and Strawberries, Water and Coffee.  Thanks Kelly, you always take care of us!  I stuck to the black coffee and water.   I really looked forward to my dinner.  My son has been wanting what I eat all week.  We both had grilled salmon, sweet potato and salad.  He loved it and I thought it was pretty good too.  After dinner I went to the gym, not something I wanted to do but it was something I had to do.  Felt good.
