Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 59 and thoughts on Yoga and Advil.

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 59

Today was another good day.  Woke up and started my day by standing on the little metal box in my bathroom.  It was good to me.  Down another 1 lb. for a total of 22.1 lbs. since the start of the challenge.  I feel good about that.  In one sense time is going by so quickly, in another sense it feels like this journey will take forever.  In any case I am sticking to the plan and trying to figure out different ways to move my body more so I just keep moving forward and downward (weight wise).

Zumba last night and yoga today at lunch time.  It was a tough one today.  Many push ups and planks, lots of time spent on my knees.  Like everything else, I am going to stick to it until I rock it.  So hard now but my muscles are sore and I have a lot of weight to hold up.  As I get stronger and smaller I will become unstoppable!

Short post today, not only are my muscles sore from exercising but my brain hurts from my day at work and my attempt at studying for my exam on Friday.  On top of that my monthly visitor is here and the discomfort from that is out of this world.  Too much info?  Thank God for Advil.

Looking forward to my Team Fitness Boot Camp tomorrow!  See you there team!!

Welcome To My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 58 and Thoughts on adding extra Cardio to your week.

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 58 and Thoughts on adding extra Cardio to your week.

I am so determined to get this weight off, I started my day at the Hall today. Most of my HR team had not seen me in a while and mentioned they noticed a difference.  Keep it coming ladies, I can't hear it too often!

There was a birthday celebration for one of my team members.  There was the most delicious "looking" carrot cake and lots of fruit.  When I told my boss the carrot cake only sounded more healthy than the chocolate cake he gave me a friendly jester that confirmed he knew I was right!  LOL  We also chatted about sweet potato chips, zucchini chips and other recipes.  Kind of cool that he is into all the healthy eating too.

Sunday and Monday I was up in weight compared to my Saturday morning weigh in.  I have come to expect that though.  I thought to myself, I have a lot of exercise planned this week it will have no where else to go but away!  The little metal box was kind to me today though, down a pound from the Saturday workout!      I knew it had to start turning around.

I was so stressed by the end of the day today.  The old me would have gone home, had dinner and a couple glasses of wine while spending the rest of the evening on the couch.  The new me thought about the red wine and got changed into my workout gear and headed to meet Glenda at Zumba.

It was my first Zumba class ever.  It was really good exercise and an excellent way to add cardio to my weekly fitness routine.  I had a really hard time following all the moves but it really was great exercise in any event.  There was a lot of arm and leg work, exactly were the muscles were worked at Team Fitness on Sat and Sun.  It worked well on my stress too.  We invited the instructor to join our boot camp at Team Fitness, she might just do that!

Losing weight is not an easy journey but for anyone out there wondering what to do you need to know if I can do this you can too.  I have tried and failed so many times.  Being part of this challenge has been what I needed and now I feel like I am going to go all the way.

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 57

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 57

Well today was a good day spent the morning doing housework and then headed to Chilliwack to have dinner and a visit with the in-laws.  Both my boys came with and it was a really great visit.  Thanks Stella for making all the things I could eat right on plan.  I have to say I would have loved to dip into the spaghetti squash mixed with butter and parmesan cheese and the butter buns.  Oh well, I wasn't really tempted, I still have my mind on the goal.  We really enjoyed our visit,  we really should do that more often!

When we got home the house smelled awesome.  My Dad was busy baking while we were away.  He made a cake and two egg and bacon pies.  The cake was not a temptation but boy I love the egg and bacon pie.  The family will be eating those for dinner tomorrow night, hopefully while I am at Zumba!

I did Sarah's Sunday morning boot camp in place of the workout today.  We would have been really late getting to Chilliwack if I had gone to the workout, but I found myself wishing I had gone, even felt a little guilty.  Oh well, Zumba tomorrow, Yoga on Wednesday and back to TF on Thursday.

My son's hockey game at North Shore Winter club was interesting.  There was very little time played 5 on 5.  There was penalty after penalty and even a huge fight.  That happened the last time we played there too.  Sometimes I think the private clubs are just a bit to arrogant.  On to West Van Hollyburn on Wednesday!  I like watching them play.  It's just a different game when your son is on the ice.

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 56 and Thoughts on Exercise, Dehydrated Chips and eating out.

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 56

Woke up early this morning to get my younger son, hubby and Dad off to the ferry for a morning hockey game in Gibsons.  I stayed home so I could attend Sarah's Sunday morning boot camp.  With muscles still sore from the Empire State Building challenge the day before I arrived at Team Fitness ready to go.  It was a different feeling than normal.  I did not know or recognize any of these boot camp attendees and I was the only person who was overweight.  It didn't feel as warm and fuzzy as working out with the TF+ team but they were all friendly and I can see me fitting in the group after a few more sessions with them.

Good thing there are lighter options on some of the stations.  I could not do the hard version on 2 of them and some of the other stations really worked my already sore muscles. I felt like I fit in though. Thanks to Sarah for inviting me to attend!  I can't come on Monday, the time just does not work.  This way I still get the workout in.  I have Zumba on Tuesday with Glenda, looking forward to that and Yoga on Wednesday at lunch, back to TF on Thursday. Should have a good with this week!  Funny thing how my brain is changing under the influence of good eating and regular exercise.  I used to dread moving my body, walking biking or whatever the activity was.  Now I can't wait to push myself, to feel the burn and to enjoy the feeling of recovery in my muscles.  I got kind of excited thinking about riding my mountain bike again.  I really enjoy it but I stopped because it wasn't fun and it got to hard.  Now I think I could rock it again!!

Bought the stuff for homemade flax seed crackers, looking into homemade hummus. (What is the story with Tahini, some like it some don't? ) I finally got around to making my Sweet Potato and Zucchini chips and they are fantastic!  Love my mandoline slicer, now I am looking for other things to slice up and dehydrate.

Looking forward to dinner with thin In-Laws tomorrow night.  I'm interested to see how it will fit into my plan.  I 'll keep you posted.

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 55 & thoughts on reward meals.

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 55

Got home from the hospital last night after 11 pm.  I went right to bed, so tired!  Then got up at 6 am to get my son out of bed and off to work.  So proud of him.  I headed to Team Fitness for our Trio workout this morning.  It was awesome.  Wesley had us do the equivalent number of stairs as climbing the Empire State Building.  OMG!  Katherine and I followed the workout with 30 more minutes on the treadmill, incline 6.  I really felt like I worked out walking out of there today.

I have a choice to make about my meal plan.  I have been given the opportunity to add a "reward" meal on the weekend on the weeks I lose more than 2 lbs.  To have it or not to have it that is the question.  I don't mind the meal plan as it is.  Adding foods too it increase my cravings for other things and talking to Katherine she had her reward meal last weekend and this week lost only 1lb.  I think I am staying as is for now, at least until I reach "one" derland.  Those of you who watch Biggest Loser will know what that is.

Doing the treadmill torture was much easier having Katherine to talk to during the 30 minutes. We both agree we would likely still be at our top weight sitting at home wondering how we would lose the weight if we hadn't been picked to participate in this TF+ Challenge.  Team Fitness you have given me my life back and maybe even saved it.  Thank you.

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 54

Welcome to my Personal Fitness Challenge Day 54

Well this evening's post comes to you via my iPad at Lionsgate hospital.
All is ok, no worries.  Hubby is getting some pain checked out.
I had a good day today.  Confined Space training all day followed by coffee with my girl friend.
I feel kind of guilty that I didn't workout in some fashion but I did register and pay for Zumba on Tuesday's with Glenda.  Does that count?  Oh well I will make up for it over the weekend.

Now for the really cool story.  I got to use my mandoline slicer on a sweet potato.  I wanted to start dehydrating it but I have no parchment paper.  It was awesome to use.  Now I want to slice up everything I can get my hands on, lol.

Looking forward to the workout tomorrow at team Fitness, that is if I get enough sleep tonight!

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 53

Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 53

Well we had an interesting workout tonight at TF+ with Sarah.  Most of it was great, some of the stations were not a fit for me.  Maybe when I get stronger and lighter but not now.  The sit up stand up from the bosu ball was interesting.  Once my feet came of the ground and I almost toppled onto my head and another time when I sat up I got so dizzy.  I wasn't doing it right.  On the second round it was much better.

I also attempted the stair climbing challenge.  I really gave it and did 4.5 flights in 1.29 minutes.  At the top I think I almost passed out.  Who knew I could push myself that hard.  Now I have a point at which I know I can do better.  Faster than 1.29 minutes next week?

I can feel my muscles talking to me now so I should be pretty stiff tomorrow.  That is ok, it my addiction now to feel that way.  It looks like I might have an exercise date every day of the week except Friday.  Oh well even God needed a day to rest,  lol.

People keep asking me how I can be so discipline.  I just say I want this and because I want this so bad I got it, I am going to do it.

Thank you Team Fitness and thank you to the other TF+ teammates.  I think you all play an important role in my success!  Looking forward to Saturday.
