Welcome to My Personal Fitness Challenge Day 47
Today was full of challenges and I am very happy to say I am heading to bed on a successful note. I headed to my Supervisor Skills course. This was day 4 of 5. Hard to believe it's going to be done 2 weeks from now. This course always starts with everyone chowing down on muffins, scones, banana bread with butter and jam. Not that hard for me to walk past it and grab a coffee, black. I head back to my seat and get out an apple. As I look around I notice the thin people are the ones with the most jam and butter on their snack. Later I notice it's the thin people who go back for more. Two or three people brought in their Halloween treat left overs too so there was plenty of chocolate to go around all day.
At lunch time I opened up my salad with 4 oz of chicken. I really do enjoy that dish. Students/Coworkers start to come back with their burgers and Tim Horton's food. One of my coworkers asks me how it's going. He went to Victoria with me and witnessed my willpower. I told him I lost a pound last week even with the trip. He gave me a high five. I like the support! I started this course around the same time I started the challenge, the instructor asked me how it was going and how many Halloween treats I had last night. I told her none. Truth is chocolate is not my weakness. If we were giving out cheese balls I may have been in trouble. She laughed and said she could really see a difference in me. :-)
I got my mandoline slicer today! Yeah! I did go to Bed, Bath and Beyond and decided I wanted a good stainless steel one but I did not want to pay the price. I have been watching Craig's List and finally found a great one for a great price. I am making something with the slicer and dehydrator this weekend!!
Tonight I went to the BC Lions game. First I started with dinner out at my friend Ariel's. She made the best salad with ground turkey and salsa. Right on my program and very satisfying. As we walked towards the entrance to BC Place there was the fantastic smell of BBQ'd smokies. We entered and of course there is all the food venders. People walking around with sweet potato fries, buttery popcorn, peanuts in the shell. It was all good until the guys in our row started passing the popcorn by me. That was hard. I kept my mind on the goal. I want to lose this weight and nothing is going to slow me down. I was thinking though, I am never going to be able to go back to eating the way I used to. To be successful I am always going to have to make choices. I am ok with that! Thanks Team Fitness.
